So many photos of our trip back to the Midwest, but missing photos from one important evening.  We are so blessed to have spent a wonderful Christmas Eve with Great Grandma Leen.  We miss you.

December Fun

Thanksgiving 2013

Tradition is setting in, yet this year felt so different from the previous two.  Take a look at this first photo.  The kids played by themselves and the parents were able to have adult conversations, although all of us were at one point in time too busy with puzzles to talk.   

Weekend in Maine

Sometimes work gives us an excuse for a weekend vacation.  Here is our weekend at Acadia National Park.  Not many people around during the off season.  We did end up with rain and cold wind, but still some fun family adventures.

Queen of Heart and White Rabbit

T now knows why so many people buy Halloween costumes in September.  Queen costume did not arrive in time for Community Center event.  We had a Saturday morning of cutting out hearts. 
Kids had an easy ride on Halloween night!

Macintosh

After picking apple out of crates instead of off trees last year, this year we were made sure we went early in the fall!  T loves the photos of eating Macintosh apples just picked from the trees each year.

Back to School

Off to kindergarten was no big deal for Aubrey: T held herself together.  Aubrey's least favorite thing was using the bathroom because "The toilet was too small. My knees were above my waist."  Her favorite thing was coloring a poster of a whale (school mascot) on the floor.  She also said "Riding the bus is when you get to talk to people."

Leland's first day at CDL started with a few tears because the toddler standing next to him started crying when C started to leave, Leland decided he should cry too, and then Aubrey needed to give way too many hugs goodbye.  Those were not the first tears on the morning.  "Mommy Bird Aubrey" had already shed tears before even leaving the house because T picked out the wrong snuggle friend to send with Leland.  Clearly Leland needed the two favorite stuff animals of the week that he refers to as "My guys."  Leland is doing great at school and T and C are enjoying the email peeks his teachers send daily.  Isn't he so sweet...
