A crystal ball?
A friend sent me this hilarious video of a 9 month old playing in a dining room, perhaps to quell my anticipation of Aubrey becoming mobile. It is so funny I have to share it with you. This is not standard practice for Aubrey's blog, so please don't send me your favorite baby video. Enjoy.

Christmas in Minneapolis
Hi everyone and sorry for the wait on Christmas pictures. I promise it was well worth it. We went to Minneapolis to celebrate Christmas and be with T's side of the family. A great time was had by all despite our first cold (I say "our" because all three of us had a cold at the same time). Before we get started, I would like to thank GAL (Great Aunt Lois; a.k.a. Devotion Photography) for the wonderful pictures. Thanks GAL!

Open wide
Part II of the solid food adventure: Aubrey's success on the first day of solid food was followed on the second day by a misadventure of sorts. She would barely open her mouth to accept the spoon and was on well on her way to making a big mess of the meal. Thinking quickly, I gave a demonstration of "proper" eating. Aubrey got the point:

First solid food
On the Sunday before Christmas, with T's mom, dad, Aunt Kim and Uncle Scott present, we quitely celebrated a major accomplishment in Aubrey's life. Up to this point T was the sole source of nourishment for Aubrey. That fact has been a source of stress for me, especially when T has a meeting or other obligation that separates her from Aubrey and I am without a bottle. Needless to say, I was looking forward to introducing Aubrey to solid foods.
We started setting the stage for this occasion about 2 months ago by putting Aubrey in her high chair when T and I eat dinner. Aubrey is now quite comfortable in the chair and will sit through an entire meal with minimal fussing. We also waited until Aubrey was 6 months old and started with rice cereal mixed with breast milk. I am pleased to report that our plan culminated in the perfect "first solid food" experience. Actually, I'm not sure how much the plan contributed to the occassion. I think the fact that Aubrey was hungry and had an audience was enough!

Just one peek?
Aubrey's two teeth are now clear of the gum and quite sharp. Thankfully she hasn't intentionally deployed them on T or me. Last week T attempted to get visual documentation of these before any others come in. You can see for yourself the result of her effort:
