Variations on a Theme

You may not be able to tell from all these smiles, but
Leland cut all four top front teeth this week!

Similarities

The last month has been all about the teeth.
We are reliving the days.

The best teethers of all time.

Showing off the teeth.

Easter Eggs

We filled the weekend with fun events...

Egg hunt with T and Leland's mom group and...

three friends from Aubrey's school were there!!!

Then we invited friends to our house to color eggs.

Easter bunny hid the eggs in our house while we slept.
Good thing Aubrey had to put on her favorite rainbow
dress before going downstairs in the morning;
the bunny might have forgotten our house.

But then... we looked outside the front window and the Easter bunny
had put tons of eggs all over the yard!!!

As is typical these days, if you show something to Leland
he does not grab for it, he opens his mouth and bites it.

Days of fun with plastic eggs.

Hike

What do we do in CT? Hike! There are short trails everywhere.
We are just starting to find them all.

The forest is clearly older in the east compared to the midwest.

Rock trail crossing the stream and a tip up from the hurricane last fall. Note the outfit: green dress over blue shirt (this blue skirt goes under all dresses lately), leggings, rain boots, winter coat, and spring hat.

No photos of T, but this is what I was looking for on the hike. Dry spring and ponds are low. This pond is low and eggs are high and dry. Only a few masses laid late in the water.

Wood Frogs!

Aubrey has been my helper when looking for wood frogs eggs this spring. So wish I had taken a picture the day she fell in the wetland. These photo look great but don't really capture the spirit of the work. I dragged her out in all sorts of weather... beautiful like this day, but also in cold, wind, and drizzle.

My Girl! Doesn't it look perfect?

Actually, I had food poisoning and was puking along the trail as we hiked to this wetland.

But she now knows what RASY eggs are like and she can identify skunk cabbage.
