Leland's
first real attempts at walking were this morning with C at the
Children's Museum. T comes home from work and these video document his newly mastered ability!!!

Vancouver, Canada
Two weeks of beautiful weather, a great view from our "dorm" room on the 15th floor, and a few scientific presentations! Plus we were busy enough that Leland started sleeping through the night while being relaxed enough that it felt like vacation. Balancing work and family isn't such a bad gig after all.
Meet Pengee, Aubrey's favorite species and travel buddy for the rest of the trip. Too bad we forgot our camera on the first day when we visited the aquarium (maybe the 45 minutes of sleep T and C got the night before leaving CT contributed to that mistake). We'll just have to remember Leland's excitement at seeing the fish!
Look at this big boy....his birthday is just around the corner.
The Beaty Biodiviersity Museum was rather impressive. Full skeleton of a blue whale! Aubrey draws Harriet the turtle (a puppet) who told us about defenses against predators.
Museum of Anthropology
Superior birders also like being surrounded by incredible trees...Doug Fir, Hemlock, and Western Red Cedar
Lunch on Juniper Point at Lighthouse Park. Note the mixing of fresh and salt water as the tide comes in.
Happy Birthday Scott!
Capilano Suspension Bridge a mere 230 feet up in the canopy!
T missed the bridge but braved the canopy walk on campus.
A morning at the beach.
Beautiful drive north to Shannon Falls and The Chief on our last day. Hopefully we make it back to BC someday!

Sibling love
Leland adores his big sister and wants to do everything that she does. Aubrey, more often that not, is a kind and loving big sister. Here's a "not" moment.
A: This is how you blow a whistle.
L: I'd like to try! Could you bring that just a little closer to me?
A: No. It is MY whistle.
L: Yeah. You're so cool with that whistle. I wanna be like you someday.
A: Yep, I'm cool. And this idol worship better continue 4-ever!
L: (Undeterred, fawning) Ooh, what's that in your hand?
