Outdoor Adventure

Our desire for Aubrey to experience Nature inspired us to take Aubrey on her first Outdoor Adventure. We visited her first State Natural Area, the Mazomainee Oak Barrens:

and her first park, Tower Hill State Park, which overlooks the Wisconsin River :

I think Aubrey's favorite part of the day was watching the sunlight and leaf shadows dance on my shirt as we walked through the woods at Tower Hill. Her smiles indicated that the first Outdoor Adventure was a success.

2 months

Aubrey is 2 months old today. In the spirit of Aubrey's friend Eva - Happy Mes-aversary! But, since C can't sing and T doesn't want to be put on the spot, this will have to do:

Pooh Bear

We were saving this outfit for a boat trip with Papa Max and Nana Sandy, but Aubrey is growing so fast that I don't think it will fit much longer.
Of course, being cute can be hard work. Thanks Grandma Trouble for holding Aubrey while she gets some much needed sleep.
ps. sorry for the delay - the picture wouldn't load

Ho Hum

We baked a small pan of brownies in celebration of Aubrey being 50 days old today. Despite her reaction to the news
I think she's actually quite proud of her accomplishments. For one, she's growing. A lot. She weighs more than 13 lbs. and now fits into some of her 3-6 mo. clothes. She's also smiling more and tonight for the first time giggled while I was dancing with her.

Smiles for Dad

T and I have been trying to get a smile on video to share with you. Our attempts usually fall short as Aubrey finds the camera too interesting and forgets about smiling. It took some time, her favorite cd, and lots of dancing like a fool on my part, but we got finally got one:

And with every video attempt there are outtakes. This is one of them. I'm so out of breath after dancing around like a fool that Aubrey and T laugh at me as I stop to catch my breath:

Friday Happy Hour

I've tried offering Aubrey a bottle twice and neither time was pleasant (think throwin' a fit). Well, today I gave it another shot. I put on her favorite cd and tried feeding while standing up. To my surprise, she took it right away. Her technique needs some work before this will suffice for an actual feeding, but I'll take it as a success.

Weekend Review

Friday: Bath time and Aubrey's first smile on record! T was quick with the camera:

Saturday: Aubrey hung out with her friends. Here's Bea (and Fred):
Later in the day we played with Mia and Emilio. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture with them, but it was lots of fun!

Sunday: Our first birding expedition with Aubrey. Here she is checking out a pair of Sandhill Cranes (yes, there are 2 cranes in the picture). I think Aubrey enjoys the sleeping in the stroller part of birding much more than the birding at this point.
