Halloween

T told Aubrey that she could not be a princess or a fairy, since she was a fairy last year.  She announced that she wanted to be a duck.  Thank goodness for internet shopping!  Leland loved the duck and very quickly learned the sign and started saying quack!  This year was another end of October storm.  We went to trick or trunk at the Community Center Saturday night as we braced for Hurricane Sandy.  We went 24hrs without power and two days without school, but everything cleared up in time to trick or treat on Halloween.

Aubrey's Favorite Things

Aubrey spent lots of time making this museum for displaying her art work.  She even named each piece of work and invited our neighbor who is a painter to a showing.  

Aubrey recently wrote this recipe and then we tried making it.  T did manage to convinced her that the PB & J did not need to be blended together with all of the other ingredients.

Fall Fun

The maple in our front yards drops its leaves early.  

 There was an early frost and thus all the apples were off the trees by the time we finally made it to an apple orchard.  Thankfully the owners picked apples into huge crates that they then set among the trees.

What would I have done without the all important photos of Leland's first bites from a full size apple?!?

 Aubrey has been learning how to cut with a real knife.  She helped C chop all of these apples for a huge batch of apple sauce.

Just for the record...

This weekend we visited the room in the children's museum that inspired Leland's first steps that C got to witness a few days after his birthday.  Although I took several photos, they all ended up a little blurry.  Maybe he is just moving too fast already!

Leland was very proud when he got to hold baby Layken.  Do you see that smile and his willingness to give her kisses?  An instant pair who will share many a birthdays together.

 Aubrey was so proud to be the flower girl in Patrick and Sara's Wedding.  Princess attire included the flower crown we made, jewelry from Sara, and lip gloss.
