Variations on a Theme

And the theme is...new tooth on the way? Maybe. We dunno. But it sure makes for cute pictures!

Aubrey in Action

We knew it would happen eventually. The setting was the final day of a weekend ski trip with C's labmates and their families. Aubrey spent the previous day watching "big" kids crawl, walk, and run. Guess she figured it was time to add to her repertoire. Of course, it required some otherwise non-toy motivators (crinkly package, T's sandal) for such a feat:

Yum, Avocado!

The Zoo

On a recent, beautiful mid-winter day we headed to the zoo with Grandma Kris, Uncle Matt, Uncle Dan, and Grandpa Daryl. Aubrey was a bit off and didn't enjoy the occasion as much as we did. A nap at ZuZu Cafe following the zoo put her in a better mood, and good food in our tummies.

New foods

Apples:

and peach puffs:

Since this video was taken peach puffs have become a pretty regular part of Aubrey's diet. We now have rice cereal, oat cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, apples, peach puffs, avocado, and peaches to work with. Green beans and apples were not hits.

Sledding

We went to Christmas Mountain Village with T's family over the MLK Jr Holiday. The weather was great, if a bit cold, and Aubrey had her first chance to spend some time enjoying a traditional winter sport, sledding.

As you can see it was a controlled environment (i.e., driveway for the cabin) complete with a guide (Aunt Kim) and a downslope spotter (Papa Max).

Playing with friends

Aubrey's playgroup. From left to right: Kendall, Mikael, and Aubrey. Can you tell from Aubrey's size that she is a month younger than Kendall and Mikael?
